Facial hair, arm pit hair, pubic hair?

what's the use of armpit hair and pubic hair? why do men have facial hair and women (most) do not? when the hair grows does it reach a max length? or could it theoretically continue to grow and get really long just like the hair on your head? just curious...

Hair on the head and on the face will stop growing on nearly everyone. It's extremely rare to see a woman with hair past her knees, or a man with a beard past the waist, even if the hair is healthy and they do not trim it. It just stops--as does armpit and pubic hair.

Pubic hair serves a definite purpose, reducing friction during intercourse. Hair on the labia and testes also reduces friction when the owner is running or walking, if they happen to be going commando, as our most distant ancestors did.

Facial hair can grow all the way down to the floor if you let it go! lol

Cheers and *hugs*

Hormones and genes!

Armpit hair and pubic hair is just what is left over from the evolutionary process of primates evolving into humans. The amount of hair you have is directly related to how much testosterone you produce. Men produce more testosterone than women, so they have more body hair (including facial hair). Some women produce too much testosterone (that's why you see some women who have facial hair). Hair can theoretically grow forever, but it is not practical. The world record for longest hair last time I checked was 27 ft. by some woman in India.
